SECARA realistik, skuad Olimpik negara sudah boleh mengucapkan selamat tinggal lebih awal kempen kelayakan Sukan Olimpik negara meskipun saingan peringkat Kumpulan C masih berbaki tiga perlawanan.
Tewas dalam tiga perlawanan termasuk dikejutkan dengan kebangkitan Bahrain 3-2 dalam aksi di Stadium Bukit Jalil, kelmarin meletakkan skuad negara terperosok di tangga terbawah kumpulan yang diterajui pasukan pilihan Jepun yang mengumpul sembilan mata, diikuti Syria enam mata di tangga kedua.

Aksi Malaysia selepas ini menentang Bahrain di Manama pada 5 Februari 2012, Jepun di Kuala Lumpur (22 Februari) dan Syria di gelanggang berkecuali (14 Mac) bolehlah dianggap sekadar pelengkap jadual. Hanya juara kumpulan layak secara automatik manakala pasukan di tangga kedua akan beraksi di play off untuk menempah tiket ke London.
Bagaimanapun, Kim Swee tetap serius menghadapi aksi pusingan kedua kumpulan itu yang disifatkan sebagai medan terbaik untuknya membuat persiapan bagi Sukan Sea 2013 di Myanmar dan Sukan Asia 2014 di Incheon, Korea Selatan.

“Secara realistik memang sukar untuk kita layak walaupun sebagai pasukan kedua terbaik kumpulan tapi baki tiga perlawanan lagi akan saya gunakan untuk pendedahan pemain muda yang bakal beraksi pada Sukan Sea 2013 dan Sukan Asia 2014.

“Pada perlawanan dengan Bahrain semalam (kelmarin) saya hanya menurunkan tiga pemain yang tidak boleh beraksi di Sukan Sea 2013 iaitu Mahali Jasuli, Khairul Fahmi Che Mat dan Affize Faisal Mamat kerana mereka akan berusia lebih 23 tahun.

“Pemain pertahanan Mohd Amer Saidin yang baru berusia 19 tahun beraksi dengan baik dalam perlawanan dengan Bahrain dan pemain muda seperti ini perlu diberikan lebih banyak peluang selepas ini,” katanya.

Malaysia yang layak ke Sukan Olimpik 1972 di Munich dan 1980 di Moscow tewas kepada Jepun 0-2 pada perlawanan pertama kemudian tewas dengan jumlah jaringan yang sama kepada Syria, dua hari selepas muncul juara Sukan Sea Indonesia.
Mengulas kekecewaan ditanggung anak buahnya apabila tewas pada perlawanan ‘hidup atau mati’ menentang Bahrain, Kim Swee menganggap ia sebagai pengajaran berguna untuk semua pemain.

“Menang atau kalah adat permainan tapi untuk tewas dalam tempoh 10 minit terakhir dengan pasukan yang beraksi dengan 10 pemain cukup pahit untuk ditelan. Sukar untuk dipercayai seminggu lalu kami adalah juara dan selepas enam hari kami dimalukan. Saya sedih kerana pemain tidak dapat meraikan nikmat sebagai juara dan memohon maaf kepada penyokong,” katanya.

Semua pemain diberikan cuti sebelum melaporkan diri semula pada 5 Disember depan dan akan berangkat ke Australia lima hari selepas itu bagi siri perlawanan persahabatan dengan tiga kelab Liga A.

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
