Jangan pandang rendah Singapura

KUALA LUMPUR - Jangan pandang rendah kemampuan Singapura! Itu amaran pengendali skuad bola sepak Sukan SEA Indonesia 2011, Ong Kim Swee (gambar), menjelang perlawanan sulung Kumpulan A pada 7 November ini.

Sambil mengakui Singapura adalah lawan yang mempunyai kualiti tersendiri, dia telah melihat sendiri aksi pasukan yang digelar Young Lions itu ketika menang ke atas skuad Sukan SEA Thailand 3-2 10 Oktober lalu di Stadium Chua Chu Kang.

''Berdasarkan pengamatan saya, kekuatan Singapura datang daripada larian-larian pantas pemainnya dan cukup bijak mendapatkan gol melalui serang balas.

''Saya juga dapati semangat juang pemain Singapura tinggi dan ia terbukti mereka mampu menewaskan Thailand 3-2 dalam satu aksi persahabatan baru-baru ini.

''Mereka (Singapura) merupakan sebuah pasukan yang mempunyai kekuatan seimbang di segenap posisi dan agak baik ketika melakukan serangan balas, satu senjata utama mereka yang kita perlu awasi," katanya.
Singapura akan membariskan beberapa pemain senior seperti Hariss Harun yang menjadi ketua pasukan, Ruzaini Zainal, Fairoz Hasan dan penjaga gol, Izwan Mahbud.

Selain itu, Kim Swee berkata, Thailand masih merupakan pasukan yang wajar dihormati selain tuan rumah, Indonesia.

''Thailand bagi saya masih merupakan pasukan yang kuat manakala Indonesia sudah tentu mendapat kelebihan selaku tuan rumah," ujarnya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
