KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian squash queen and world number one, Datuk Nicol David, claimed her sixth World Open title after defeating arch-rival Jenny Duncalf of England 11-2, 11-5, 11-0 on Sunday.
According to the competition's official website, www.worldopensquash2011.com, Nicol, 28, put up a sizzling performance to dismiss second seed Duncalf in just under half-an-hour.
In the finals held at Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam, Netherlands, at 2pm local time (9pm Malaysian time), Nicol outclassed her opponent in straight sets 11-2, 11-5 and 11-0.
With the win over Duncalf, Nicol who has also won the title five times, surpassed the record of five world titles jointly by her and Sarah Fitz-Gerald of Australia.
