Regu kita tidak jumpa Thailand, Indonesia saingan kumpulan


SKUAD elit kekal dengan 12 pemain ke Sukan SEA XXVI Indonesia 2011, minggu depan selepas Inasoc menerima rayuan Astaf untuk mengekalkan acara berpasukan lelaki walaupun cuma disertai empat negara.


KUALA LUMPUR - Acara berpasukan sepak takraw kekal dilangsungkan dalam Sukan SEA Indonesia 2011, minggu depan malah satu lagi berita gembira buat skuad elit negara ialah undian antara regu semalam memisahkan mereka dengan Thailand dan Indonesia di peringkat kumpulan.

Sekalipun cuma tuan rumah, Thailand, Malaysia dan Myanmar yang menyertai acara berpasukan lelaki sekali gus sudah menjamin sesiapa pun dengan sekurang-kurangnya pingat gangsa, Jawatankuasa Penganjur Sukan SEA Indonesia (Inasoc) tetap memberikan lampu hijau untuk meneruskannya.

Majlis undian di Hotel Jaya Karta, Daira Palembang, Sumatera, semalam pula menempatkan Malaysia ke Kumpulan B antara regu lelaki dengan Laos, Singapura dan Vietnam sementara juara bertahan Thailand dan tuan rumah membentuk Kumpulan A dengan Filipina dan Brunei.

Laluan itu tampak lebih mudah buat anak buah Jamaluddin Hassan untuk mara ke separuh akhir namun posisi juara juara kumpulan ini bakal disaingi hebat Laos yang pernah mengejutkan Malaysia di tanah airnya, Vientiane untuk merampas perak pada Sukan SEA 2009.

Malah, dinilai rekod dikejutkan Indonesia dalam suku akhir Siri Super I, September lalu, skuad elit masih berdepan ranjau lain sekiranya menjuarai Kumpulan B dan mara ke separuh akhir memandangkan tuan rumah mungkin menantinya sebagai naib juara Kumpulan A.

Presiden Persekutuan Sepak Takraw Asia (Astaf), Abdul Halim Kader berkata kepada Utusan Malaysia, "Inasoc menerima rayuan Astaf untuk meneruskan acara berpasukan biarpun undang-undang Persekutuan Sukan SEA (SGF) tidak membenarkan jika hanya tiga atau empat negara yang bertanding.

"Alasan untuk mengekalkannya ialah negara terlibat sudah melabur banyak wang untuk membentuk pasukan bagi acara tertua sepak takraw Sukan SEA itu. Begitu juga dengan berpasukan wanita walaupun cuma disertai Indonesia, Myanmar dan Thailand," katanya dari Palembang.

Kata Abdul Halim, Astaf selepas ini akan cuba mengkaji semula dasar kekangan penyertaan sesebuah negara dalam kesemua acara sepak takraw yang dipertandingkan dalam Sukan SEA mahupun Sukan Asia sejak dikuatkuasakan pada 2009 malah tidak menolak kemungkinan untuk melonggarkannya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
