KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Dec (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Athletics Union (MAU) has issued a show cause letter to Noraseela Mohd Khalid after the 400 metres runner criticised the national athletics organisation.
MAU in a statement said the council, which met on Dec 10 in Kangar, Perlis, had decided to issue the show cause letter to the women's 400 metres gold medalist who was given 14 days to response.
Noraseela, 32, was reported to have criticised the MAU management which was said to be not appreciative of the service and sacrifice of athletes after she successfully defended her 400-metre hurdles gold at the SEA Games in Indonesia last month.
According to her, the negative attitude of certain quarters in the union had hampered the development of athletes and national athletics.
Meanwhile, Noraseela when contacted confirmed receiving the letter last week but declined to comment.
"If they want to settle the problem, come and see me.
"If they want me to reply, I will reply," she said.
