Terengganu Chosen As Training Base For National Cycling Team

KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 27 (Bernama) -- Terengganu has been chosen as the training base for the national cycling team that will compete in the Asia Cycling Champion (ACC) and Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) next year.

Coach Syed Mohd Hussaini Syed Mazlan said 11 riders had started a month-long centralised training since Dec 20.

"We chose Terengganu as the training base because it is one of the stages for the LTdL," he told Bernama when contacted here today.

Syed Mohd said training would be conducted in Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kuala Terengganu covering about 280km.

He said the riders selected for the ACC are Mohd Haris Salleh, Zamri Salleh, Anuar Manan, Shahrul Mat Amin, Mohd Fauzan Mohd Lufti, Amir Mustapha and Adiq Husaini.

The riders for the LTdL will be made up of Akmal Amron, Mohamad Nazri, Mohd Fakharullah Alias, Suhardi Hasan, Falani Ali, Mohd Rauf Misbah, Mohd Fauzan Mohd Lufti, Amir Mustafa and Adiq Husaini.

Syed Mohd said Malaysia has been given the honour of hosting the ACC in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 18-22 while the LTdL will be flagged off on Feb 24.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
