Mariana kena rehat sekurang-kurangnya tiga bulan

PETALING JAYA - Kemalangan yang menimpa pelumba basikal wanita negara, Mariana Mohamad kelmarin menyebabkan dia terlepas Kejohanan Berbasikal Asia (ACC) 2012 berikutan proses pemulihan yang mengambil masa sekurang-kurangnya tiga bulan.

Itu kata Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Institut Sukan Negara (ISN), Datuk Dr. Ramlan Aziz selepas menilai laporan perubatan terhadap kecederaan pelumba tersebut, semalam.

Dr. Ramlan berkata, kemalangan yang berlaku dalam Perlumbaan Pemilihan Kejohanan Berbasikal Asia (ACC) 2012 di Putrajaya itu menyebabkan Mariana mengalami patah lengan dan cedera rusuk serta lutut kanan.

"Laporan doktor mendapati Mariana mengalami banyak kecederaan dan yang paling serius adalah patah lengan tangannya, rusuk dan lutut kanan.

"Proses pemulihan terhadap kecederaan ini amat penting buatnya dan kita akan memantau dengan lebih terperinci perkembangannya," katanya kepada pemberita dalam sidang akhbar selepas melawat Mariana di Hospital KPJ Damansara, semalam.

Pada perlumbaan pemilihan ACC itu, selain Mariana tiga lagi pelumba negara turut terlibat dalam kemalangan yang membabitkan sebuah kereta Kancil sehingga menyebabkan perlumbaan terpaksa dibatalkan serta merta.
Sementara itu, Dr. Ramlan menasihatkan Mariana agar mengikut nasihat doktor selain tidak menyertai latihan atau kejohanan dalam masa terdekat.

"Jika dia menyertai latihan atau kejohanan dalam masa terdekat ini sudah tentu ia akan menyebabkan proses pemulihannya terganggu.

"Saya harap Mariana bersabar dan gigih menjalani proses pemulihan tersebut," jelasnya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
