KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's number two Ong Beng Hee produced a vintage display to move into the semi-finals of the 2012 CIMB Nicol David KL Open squash championships at the Berjaya Times Square, here Thursday night.
The unseeded Beng Hee overcame compatriot, Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan in a thrilling five-set quarter-final encounter that lasted for 91 minutes.
Beng Hee who took the first game 12-10, lost the next two sets, 11-13, 6-11 before regaining his composure to win the fourth and final sets, 11-7, 11-7, respectively.
"Obviously it was a tough match and the pressure was on me to beat him. I felt my experience had seen me through and I've played well today.
"I was very lucky to get to the semi-finals and hope I hope to play better tomorrow, or else I won't get a chance to win my second title here," said Beng Hee, who won the KL Open title in 2008.
