Chong Wei boleh cipta keajaiban

KUALA LUMPUR - "Mereka yang tidak diletakkan sebagai pilihan selalunya akan mengukir keajaiban," Itu pandangan Pengarah Cawangan Pembangunan Organisasi Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Suhardi Alias mengenai kecederaan yang dialami oleh pemain badminton negara, Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

Menurutnya, seseorang atlet mahupun pasukan akan berusaha sedaya yang mungkin dan dari situ akan datang keajaiban, seperti mana yang telah terjadi dalam beberapa kejayaan sebelum ini.

"Mereka yang diletakkan sebagai pilihan tidak sering melakukan keajaiban tetapi mereka yang langsung tidak diletakkan sebagai pilihan sentiasa melakukan keajaiban," katanya pada majlis Sokongan Kontinjen Malaysia ke Sukan Olimpik 2012 London oleh Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) semalam.

Jelasnya, secara umum sesetengah atlet mempunyai kekuatan mental yang luar biasa apabila tidak diletakkan sebarang harapan, jadi Chong Wei mungkin boleh beraksi dengan kurang tekanan di Sukan Olimpik 2012 London.

Pemain perseorangan badminton negara itu mengalami kecederaan buku lali kaki kanan ketika beraksi di Piala Thomas 2012 di Wuhan dan terpaksa berehat sekurang-kurangnya empat hingga enam minggu.

"Seorang pemain akan menggunakan kekurangan yang ada pada dirinya untuk meningkatkan motivasi diri dan di situlah keajaiban akan berlaku, ditambah pula dengan sokongan padu keluarga dan masyarakat.
"Dia (Chong Wei) mungkin boleh menang ataupun tidak, tetapi kekangan yang berlaku akan menguatkan lagi semangatnya dan akan terhasil keputusan yang lebih baik seterusnya mencipta sejarah lebih manis," katanya.

Sementara itu Ketua Pegawai Pemasaran TM, Datuk Rozalila Abdul Rahman berkata, semangat atlet negara sentiasa berkobar-kobar walaupun terpaksa berdepan dengan masalah kecederaan dan contoh terdekat ialah pelumba basikal trek negara, Azizulhasni Awang yang pernah mengalami kecederaan semasa berlumba tetapi menamatkannya hingga ke garisan penamat.

"Keajaiban boleh berlaku, kita semua tahu bahawa Chong Wei adalah seorang pejuang, jika dia mahukan sesuatu dia akan terus berusaha sehingga memperolehinya. Sokongan rakyat Malaysia bakal menjadi nadi kepada kekuatannya," kata Rozalila.

TM melalui kempen Team Malaysia akan memberi sokongan tidak berbelah bahagi kepada atlet negara yang beraksi pada Olimpik termasuk mengadakan beberapa kempen seperti mengeluarkan iklan bercetak dalam surat khabar utama, Peraduan Team Malaysia SuperFan dan Team Malaysia Fan Run.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
