KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) -- Five players, including defending
champion Malaysia's Kelly Tan, shared the opening round lead of the 29th
Malaysian Ladies Amateur Open (MLAO) held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and
Country Club in Bukit Kiara, here, Tuesday.
The 18-year-old Kelly, compatriot Iman Ahmad Nordin, Dottie Ardina (Philippines), Mehar Kaur Atwal (India) and Whitney Hillier (Australia) posted identical scores of three-under-par 68.
"I played really solid today but didn't get my wish of a flawless finish, if not for that dropped shot on the 16th hole.
"It was a good opening round and I think I can go lower tomorrow if I stay patient and just wait for the birdies to drop," said Kelly after completing her game.
In today's round, Kelly carded four birdies with the only blemish on her card coming at the par-five 16th hole, when she dropped a bogey.
