Malaysia catat kejayaan sulung

PEMAIN-PEMAIN negara meraikan kemenangan 3-2 ke atas Pakistan pada Kejohanan Hoki PSAS di Stadium Azlan Shah, Ipoh malam tadi.


MALAYSIA mencatat kemenangan pertama setelah mengalahkan juara Sukan Asia 2010, Pakistan 3-2 pada Kejohanan Hoki Piala Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS) ke-21 di Stadium Azlan Shah, Ipoh malam tadi.
Kemenangan pertama itu mele- takkan Malaysia di tangga kelima dengan mengumpul lima mata daripada empat perlawanan.

Sebelum ini, skuad yang dibimbing oleh Tai Beng Hai itu hanya mampu mencatat dua keputusan seri dengan Korea (1-1) dan Britain (3-3).

Pakistan hanya mengambil masa empat minit untuk menumpas- kan penjaga gol Malaysia, S. Kumar bagi gol pertama melalui rembatan kencang, Muhammad Umat Bhutta.

Selepas itu, pintu gol Malaysia bolos lagi melalui rembatan kencang Shafqat Rasool pada minit ke-12 bagi gol kedua.

Tolakan kencang Amir Farid Ahmad Fuzi pada minit terakhir separuh masa pertama berjaya merapatkan jurang perbezaan gol dengan Pakistan.
Pada separuh masa kedua, Malaysia bangkit mempamerkan kegarangannya dengan melakukan serangan bertali arus bagi mendapatkan gol penyamaan.

Sorakan hampir 10,000 penyokong Malaysia membuatkan para pemain semakin bersemangat untuk mencari gol yang dinantikan.

Malaysia akhirnya memperoleh gol penyamaan melalui rembatan kencang penjaring terbanyak negara, Faisal Shaari minit ke-48.

Gol kemenangan yang dinantikan oleh Malaysia menjelma apabila pukulan sudut penalti oleh Muhammad Razie Abd. Rahim berjaya menembusi pintu gol Pakistan pada minit ke-69.

Sementara itu, tuan rumah Sukan Olimpik 2012, Britain memadamkan rekod tanpa kalah New Zealand 2-1 dalam satu perlawanan yang menarik.

Britain membuka jaringan melalui rembatan kencang Ashley Jackson pada minit ke-18 dan diikuti oleh Matt Daly minit ke-27.

New Zealand mendapat gol tunggalnya hasil pukulan sudut penalti yang disempurnakan oleh Andy Hayward pada minit ke-62.

Walaupun kalah, New Zealand masih mendahului enam negara lain dengan sembilan mata, diikuti oleh Argentina di tangga kedua dengan jumlah mata yang sama tetapi berbeza jumlah jaringan gol.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
