Penentuan Nur Suryani ke London minggu depan

Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid mendengar penjelasan Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi ketika beliau meninjau latihan persediaan penembak negara itu di Majlis Sukan Negara, Bukit Jalil semalam. 
 
KUALA LUMPUR - Pemeriksaan dua pakar perubatan Institut Sukan Negara (ISN) minggu ini dan pemeriksaan rutin bulanan kandungan pada 2 Julai, mungkin menjadi penentu muktamad sama ada Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi layak ke Sukan Olimpik London atau tidak, bulan depan.

Penembak raifal wanita negara kelahiran Ipoh, Perak yang kini sarat mengandung tujuh bulan itu, masih perlu melalui kedua-dua sesi berkenaan walaupun dia menunjukkan kemajuan prestasi semasa dan didapati berkeadaan cukup baik dari segi emosi serta fizikal.

Ketua kontinjen negara ke Olimpik, Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid berkata: "Dia berkeadaan positif dan bersemangat untuk menyertai Sukan Olimpik di London malah prestasinya dalam latihan memang mendadak ketika ini.

"Namun disebabkan sarat mengandung dan mahu berangkat ke London pada 22 Julai ini dan bertanding 28 Julai, dia akan diperiksa dua pakar perubatan (ISN selain pemeriksaan kandungan rutin bulanan) untuk pengesahan supaya tidak memudaratkan kandungannya.

"Kita akan menunggu laporan perubatan dan saya malah kontinjen negara amat berharap laporan itu tanpa keraguan, mengizinkan Nur Suryani mengambil bahagian dalam Olimpik (raifal angin 10 meter)," katanya selepas meninjau latihan persediaan penembak itu di Majlis Sukan Negara, Bukit Jalil.
Sementara itu, Nur Suryani berkata: "Saya tetap dengan matlamat sebelum ini (cuba mencatat prestasi terbaik pada Olimpik) walaupun prestasi semasa (dalam latihan) mulai meningkat. Ia pun berlaku kerana saya mengikuti perancangan yang ditetapkan jurulatih.

"Saya tidak suka merancang apa-apa di sana, bimbang akan menjadi tekanan lain. Cuma saya berusaha, berdoa dan pastikan semuanya lancar," kata anggota Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia berpangkat Leftenan Muda ini yang mengakui bakal ditemani suaminya di London.

Mengenai kejatuhan jaguh badminton negara yang juga prospek emas Olimpik, Datuk Lee Chong Wei dari ranking No. 1 dunia, kata Ahmad Sarji: "Ia cuma salah satu cara menilai seseorang tetapi bukan semestinya petunjuk yang tepat kerana macam golf.

"Walaupun dia di No. 2, tidak semestinya orang yang No. 1 (Lin Dan) akan menang," katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
