MELAKA, July 19 (Bernama) -- Premier league runners-up Pahang clinched
the last Super League's berth for next season after edging Kedah 3-2
through a penalty shootout in a knockout match at the Hang Jebat Stadium
here Thursday night.
They played to a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes, including 30 minutes extra time.
Pahang's goals in the penalty shootout came from Zaiza Zainal Abidin, Faizol Husin and Jalaluddin Hassan while Kedah replied through Mohd Fauzi Nan and captain Baddrol Bakhtiar.
During the regulation time, Pahang led 2-0 through Hafiz Kamal in the seventh minute and Boris Kochkin (penalty kick) in the 42nd minute, but Kedah drew level through Khyril Muhymeen in the 49th minute and Baddrol in the 67th minute.
