MELAKA, July 17 (Bernama) -- Klang Valley club Pos Malaysia FC and
Johor's MP Muar gained promotion to the Premier League next season after
beating their respective opponents in a Premier League playoff here
Tuesday.
Pos Malaysia recorded a comfortable win by thrashing Kuantan Port/Shahzan Muda 5-1 at the Hang Jebat Stadium with goals from Mohd Fakhrul Aiman (4th, 40min), G. Puaneswaran (13th min), Mohd Hanifuddin Abdul Rahman (16th min) and Mohd Hafizi Amiruddin (74th min) while Muhd Helmi scored the only goal for Shahzan Muda in the 69th minute.
MP Muar beat Negeri Sembilan's Betaria FC 3-0 at the Hang Tuah Stadium through Hillary Odada's 32nd minute minute strike while Efendi Abdul Malek (72nd minute) and Mohd Alafi Mahmud (89th minute) completed the victory.
Meanwhile, in the Super League playoff Kedah beat Sabah 1-0 at the Hang Tuah Stadium through Mohd Syamin Aliff's solitary goal in the 89th minute while Pahang also recorded a 1-0 win over Sarawak through Mohd Saiful Nizam Miswan's goal in the 88th minute at the Hang Jebat Stadium.
The decision would pave the way for Kedah to settle a final score with Pahang on Thursday at the Hang Jebat Stadium to wrest the sole slot to the Super League next season.
