KUANTAN, July 15 (Bernama) -- A religious school student in Johor,
Muhamad Hazizul Hakim Md Sukor was crowned champion in the men's Under
52kg Boxing competition in the 15th SUKMA held at the Bitara Hall,
Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Rangin, here, Sunday.
The Johor lad took the gold after defeating Penang's A. Jagadish by 20-15 while losing semifinalists Mohd Azman Mohd Azhar (Kelantan) and Mohd Zulfadlie Ibrahim (Pahang) were awarded bronze medals.
Muhamad Hazizul, a form five student at Sekolah Menengah Al-Quran Waddin, competing in his first SUKMA, said he was thankful to God for his success today.
He said the success was a big milestone for him and a gift for his parents and the Amateur Boxing Association of Johor for their undying support.
Muhamad Hazizul was attracted to the sport when he was 13 and the sport has since become a passion.
