Jangan tutup kes Karim - Hamberi

KUALA LUMPUR - Meskipun Datuk Karim Ibrahim tidak lagi berada dalam barisan kepimpinan Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia (KOM), namun badan induk olahraga kebangsaan itu digesa agar tidak menutup kes petisyen jurulatih dan atlet yang dibuat ke atas bekas Timbalan Presiden mereka itu. 

Petisyen yang ditandatangani 42 atlet dan 16 jurulatih kebangsaan itu telah diserahkan kepada bekas Presiden KOM, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim pada 13 Februari lalu. Antara kandungannya, Karim didakwa terlibat dalam dua kes doping melibatkan atlet negara.

Hasil daripada petisyen setebal 11 muka surat yang bertajuk 'Laporan dan Aduan Jurulatih dan Atlet Olahraga Kebangsaan kepada Presiden Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia KOM' itu, panel siasatan bebas yang dipengerusikan bekas hakim, Tan Sri V C George telah dibentuk.

Empat hari sebelum Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan, KOM berlangsung Ahad lalu, panel berkenaan menyerahkan laporan siasatan kepada Shahidan. Namun kerana kesuntukan masa, ahli majlis tidak sempat membincangkan tindakan susulan yang perlu diambil, manakala Karim pula bebas bertanding.
Begitupun pada akhirnya, pemimpin senior dari Melaka itu tewas kepada pendatang baru dari Terengganu, Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh menerusi 19 undi berbalas 25.

Hamberi Mahat, antara jurulatih yang dipanggil sepanjang proses siasatan berjalan menegaskan, petisyen itu adalah suara jurulatih dan atlet kebangsaan yang teraniaya, justeru majlis KOM patut bertindak terhadap segala dakwaan yang diutarakan sekalipun subjek utama dalam pendakwaan tersebut sudah tidak memegang jawatan.

Begitupun Hamberi mengakui, beliau hanya mampu memberi pandangan peribadi kerana akhirnya ia tetap terpulang kepada kepimpinan baru KOM sama ada mahu mengambil tindakan atau menutup kes.
"Pada saya, majlis perlu mengambil tindakan terhadap petisyen itu kerana ia mewakili suara kami jurulatih dan atlet yang teraniaya.

"Namun, itu pandangan peribadi saya, terpulang kepada mereka sama ada mahu bertindak atau sebaliknya,'' ujar Hamberi.

Hamberi turut menambah, meskipun beliau difahamkan pendengaran kes petisyen itu menemui kegagalan atas sebab yang tidak diketahui, namun beliau yakin petisyen tersebut yang telah menjadi isu nasional antara penyebab utama jatuhnya era Karim dan Shahidan.

Beliau juga berharap, kehadiran dua pemimpin tertinggi baru dalam KOM, Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad dan Wan Hisham akan memperbetulkan langkah sukan olahraga yang sumbang sejak beberapa tahun ini.

"Memang sukar untuk membersihkan maruah negara yang tercalar ekoran beberapa kontroversi, malah tidak mudah hendak mengembalikan semula kegemilangan yang semakin pudar, tetapi yakinlah semangat dan kesungguhan jurulatih serta atlet negara sentiasa membara.

"Tanpa Karim, InsyaAllah walaupun sukar untuk bangkit dari zaman kejatuhan, saya yakin kami mampu.

"Kami dahagakan kejayaan, tunggulah Sukan SEA 2013 nanti, kami akan buktikan,'' kata bekas jaguh pecut negara itu lagi.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
