Shahidan: Laporan dakwaan terhadap Karim akan diputuskan selepas AGM

KUALA LUMPUR - Laporan membabitkan Timbalan Presiden Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia (KOM) Datuk Karim Ibrahim yang didakwa terlibat dalam kes enam atlet olahraga melarikan diri daripada ujian antidoping tahun lepas akan diputuskan oleh anggota majlis KOM selepas mesyuarat agung tahunan (AGM).

Presiden KOM Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim berkata salinan laporan akan diberikan kepada anggota majlis KOM untuk diteliti sebelum dibincangkan seminggu selepas mesyuarat yang akan berlangsung esok di Dewan Komanwel, Majlis Sukan Negara di Bukit Jalil.

"Saya telah menerima laporan daripada Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Siasatan Datuk V.C George pada Khamis lepas. Laporan tersebut bukan muktamad kerana Anggota Majlis KOM akan putuskan tentang tindakan yang harus diambil, selepas itu baru kita bawa untuk penyataan umum.

"Perkara ini adalah melibatkan undang-undang dan masa depan seseorang. Perkara yang melibatkan undang-undang ini tidak boleh dibuat secara tergesa-gesa. Laporan itu akan dibincangkan selepas mesyuarat agung esok, seminggu selepas itu kita akan bagi ruang dan peluang untuk membincangkannya lebih mendalam," katanya.

Shahidan berkata demikian kepada pemberita di pejabatnya di Bukit Jalil.

Pada 13 Feb lepas, jurulatih pecut negara, Hamberi Mahat yang mewakili 58 atlet dan jurulatih olahraga negara menghantar petisyen bertajuk 'Laporan dan aduan Jurulatih dan Atlet Olahraga Kebangsaan kepada Presiden KOM'.

Petisyen setebal 11 muka surat itu yang ditandatangani kesemua 58 atlet dan jurulatih, antara lain meminta Karim disingkirkan daripada jawatannya selain memuatkan aduan dan keluhan jurulatih tempatan mengenai dakwaan salah laku Karim.

Sehubungan itu, KOM telah menubuhkan sebuah jawatankuasa siasatan untuk mengkaji kes tersebut dan mereka memilih MOM untuk mengetuai jawatankuasa tersebut bagi memastikan ketelusan dalam proses siasatan.

MOM kemudian melantik George yang juga bekas Hakim Mahkamah Rayuan untuk mengetuai jawatankuasa berkenaan.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
