KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Youth and Sports Ministry has identified 11 sports for the 'Road to Rio 2016' programme.
Its minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the ministry was also considering three more sports to be included in the Olympics development programme.
"In general 11 types of sports but nit finalised yet," he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 2016 Olympics at the National Sports Council here Tuesday.
It is understood the 11 sports are those that saw national athletes competing in the London Olympics namely aquatics, weightlifting, cycling, badminton, gymnastics, men's hockey, fencing, arhcery, shooting, athletics and sailing.
