Pandelela, winner of the women's 10m Platform bronze medal at the London Olympics, said since 5,000 students from 101 higher learning institutions are participating in the games, competition will be very stiff.
"SUKIPT this year is even bigger than SUKMA, so I believe more talented athletes can be identified. SUKIPT will also become a platform for students to showcase their talent," she told reporters here Monday.
The games which was officially opened by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin yesterday, will see participation from 15,000 athletes, officials and volunteers.
She said SUKIPT, held at various venues in the Klang Valley until Nov 11, would also offer scholarships for gold medal winners, as a special incentive.
