KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's world number one Datuk
Nicol Ann David had an easy passage in the opening round of the 2012
Hong Kong Open Squash Championship at the Hong Kong Squash Centre,
Tuesday night.
Nicol took just 23 minutes to beat unseeded Sarah Kippax of England in straight sets of 11-2, 11-5 and 11-5 and will be meeting homester, Joey Chan in the second round match on Thursday.
Joey booked her berth after defeating a qualifier, Amanda Landers-Murphy of New Zealand with 8-11, 11- 4, 11-7 and 11-9 which lasted for 40 minutes.
Earlier, Malaysia's Delia Arnold was shown the exit by third seed, Jenny Duncalf of England in straight set of 11-9, 11-9 and 11-9.
The other Malaysian women player in the main draw, Low Wee Wern will start her campaign in Wednesday's second block of the first round matches. She will be playing against qualifier Melody Francis of Australia.
While in the men's category, Malaysia's sole representative, Ong Beng Hee will be playing against Colombia's Miguel Angel Rodriguez later.
