KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's number two women squash
player, Low Wee Wern marched into the next round of the 2012 Hong Kong
Open squash championships held at the Hong Kong Squash Centre,
Wednesday.
According to the tournament's official website, www.hksquashopen.com, the 22-year-old world number seven defeated Australia's Melody Francis, a qualifier, in straight sets 11-1, 11-2 and 11-1 in just 23 minutes.
Wee Wern will next meet Camille Serme of France in the second round tomorrow.
Camille booked her berth in the second round after defeating Ireland's Aisling Blake in a grueling five-set thriller 11-7, 9-11, 13-11, 10-12 and 11-2, which lasted for 62 minutes.
In yesterday's first round matches, Malaysia's world number one, Datuk Nicol David also had an easy passage in her opening round match against unseeded Sarah Kippax of England, winning in straight sets 11-2, 11-5 and 11-5.
