KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- The delay in payment of bonus to
national players who achieved success at international level, as
promised, was due to a delay in cash flow to the Badminton Association
of Malaysia.
BAM general manager Kenny Goh said it was not a new issue because such a situation had occurred before, but promised to pay the bonus as promised.
"The money is there but the problem is the cash flow which has delayed the payment of bonus to the players. We will try to expedite payment. But I cannot comment further because it might tarnish the image of certain people," he told Bernama when contacted Wednesday.
Newspapers reports today quoted several national shuttlers claiming that their bonus had not been paid for their achievement since last June.
The BAM had promised bonus payment for players who qualified for the quarterfinals onwards at international tournaments.
