Its deputy minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim clarified that corruption in football involved match-fixing which is a global issue.
He said, the ministry implemented educational and information campaigns by instilling positive values, religion and formation of personality at all ages to check corruption.
"In terms of enforcement, an examination, monitoring and transparency committee was set up by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and chaired by Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat with representatives from the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)," he said when answering a question from Senator Datuk Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah at Dewan Negara, here, Wednesday.
Mohammed Najeeb wanted to know the cause of corruption in football which was still rampant despite various initiatives and action taken.
