Ranking Harimau Malaya tidak berubah, kekal ke-158 dunia

Kuala Lumpur: Tanpa perlawanan antarabangsa pada awal tahun menjadi penyebab pasukan Malaysia kekal pada ranking ke-158 dunia.

Ranking terbaru dikeluarkan Persekutuan Bola Sepak Antarabangsa (FIFA) menunjukkan mata dikumpul skuad bimbingan Datuk K Rajagobal (gambar) naik satu mata kepada 134 mata pada bulan ini. Kedudukan ranking Malaysia dijangka berubah pada bulan depan apabila skuad Harimau Malaya menyertai perlawanan persahabatan antarabangsa pertama untuk tahun ini menentang Iraq di Dubai, Emiriah Arab Bersatu (UAE) pada 31 Januari.

Senarai kedudukan terkini menunjukkan pasukan Harimau Malaya setanding dengan beberapa pasukan seperti Maldives yang berada pada ranking ke-159, Lesotho (160), Republik Dominica (161), Myanmar (162) dan Hong Kong (163).
Di kalangan negara Asia Tenggara pula, Malaysia kekal di tempat keenam di belakang Vietnam (134), Thailand (138), Filipina (147), Singapura (154) dan Indonesia (156).

Sementara itu, Sepanyol terus mengekalkan status selaku pasukan terbaik dunia dengan mengumpul 1,606 mata.

Jerman dan Argentina turut mengekalkan kedudukan selaku pasukan kedua dan ketiga terbaik dunia apabila masing-masing mengutip 1,437 dan 1,290 mata.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
