NEW DELHI, April 24 (Bernama) -- World No. 1 badminton player, Datuk Lee Chong Wei aims to reclaim the Yonex Sunrise India Open title for his new born son, Kingston Lee.
"I will try hard to win the title for my baby," he told reporters after winning round one of the Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2013, against Ireland's Scott Evans in straight sets 21-16 and 21-5 in 23 minutes.
He won the title in 2011.
For round two, Chong Wei will play against Japan's Kazumasa Sakai tomorrow.
On his choice to participate in the tournament despite the Badminton Association of Malaysia allowing him to skip it, the two-time Olympic silver medalists said:
"Yonex is my biggest sponsor and I need to support them...besides, it is also an important tournament for India.
"(While) I do miss my son, it's my duty (to take part in the tournament)," he said.
