Tumpuan dua raja pecut


Kuala Lumpur: Perlumbaan tertua negara, Jelajah Malaysia bakal membabitkan penyertaan 20 pasukan yang mengibarkan cabaran bermula dari 26 hingga 30 Jun dengan pertempuran juara pecut pasti terarah kepada kepada dua wakil negara, Anuar Manan dan Mohd Harrif Saleh.
Anuar bakal turun bersama pasukan berstatus benua, Synergy Baku Cycling Project manakala Harrif membawa nama TSG selepas kedua-dua pelumba ini berdepan kegagalan di Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) hujung Februari lalu.

Timbalan Presiden Persekutuan Kebangsaan Berbasikal Malaysia (PKBM) Datuk Naim Mohamad dalam sidang media Majlis Penyerahan Tajaan Jersi Pecut daripada Milo mengesahkan penyertaan sembilan pasukan berstatus benua, tiga kebangsaan, tiga kelab dan lima ahli gabungan PKBM.
Sembilan pasukan berstatus benua terdiri daripada TSG, OCBC Singapore Continental Cycling Team, Matrix Powertag (Jepun) dan Huon Salmon Genesys Wealth Advisers Pro Cycling Team (Australia), CCN Cycling Team (Brunei), Polygon Sweet Nice (Ireland), Team 7 Eleven (Filipina) dan Team LBC (Filipina).

Tiga pasukan kebangsaan pula adalah Bahrain, Malaysia dan Singapura manakala pasukan kelab pula Team Putra Perjuangan Bandung (Indonesia), Custom Cycling Club (Indonesia) dan Team Corbusier (Sarawak).

Pasukan gabungan PKBM turut mengambil bahagian termasuk dari Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN), Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) dan Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM).

Naim berkata, Jelajah Malaysia memberi peluang kepada pelumba untuk memperbaiki ranking masing-masing dan ia adalah peluang terbaik untuk semua pelumba negara meraih mata bagi melayakkan diri ke Kejohanan Lebuhraya Dunia dan juga Sukan Olimpik Rio 2016 .

“Saya harap pelumba negara menggunakan Jelajah Malaysia ini sebagai medan memperbaiki ranking masing-masing terutama di negara Asia. Kejayaan mampu melonjakkan kedudukan mata sekali gus melayakkan diri ke Kejohanan Lebuh Raya Dunia di Florence, Itali September ini,” katanya.

Malaysia setakat 25 Mei ini mengumpul 297 mata, manakala Hong Kong gah dengan 396 mata, sementara Iran pula memungut 319 mata. “Jika berjaya ke kejohanan dunia itu, peluang pelumba menambah pungutan mata seterusnya mencari slot ke Rio bagi mengulangi pencapaian 2012 adalah cerah.”

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
