Tidak bangga jika ranking rendah: Khairy


Seremban: Sikap pegawai dan jurulatih bola sepak kebangsaan yang berterusan menganggap kedudukan pasukan negara dalam ranking dunia tidak penting terus mengundang rasa kurang senang Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.
Beliau berkata, mana-mana pasukan bola sepak di dunia sentiasa memburu kedudukan terbaik ranking dunia kerana itu penilaian sebenar atau penanda aras terhadap kekuatan sesebuah pasukan kebangsaan.

“Justeru, pasukan kita juga akan dinilai melalui prestasi beraksi di kejohanan besar seperti kelayakan Piala Dunia, Piala Asia, Sukan SEA dan sebagainya.
“Kita dapati mana-mana pasukan kebangsaan yang berjaya di kejohanan besar selalunya menduduki ranking tinggi di dunia dan tidak boleh kita katakan kedudukan kita (pasukan kebangsaan) dalam ranking dunia itu tidak penting.

“Saya setuju kedudukan itu bukan segala-galanya kerana jika dapat ranking nombor satu tidak semestinya menang Piala Dunia, tapi ia ada persamaannya iaitu negara yang tinggi ranking akan berjaya dalam kejohanan besar atau pertandingan bertaraf antarabangsa.

“Kalau kita menafikan ranking dunia itu tidak penting, saya nampak ia bukan perkara yang produktif,” katanya mengulas kenyataan Persatuan Bolasepak Malaysia (FAM) terutama ketua jurulatih pasukan kebangsaan. Datuk K Rajagobal, yang berterusan mengatakan ranking dunia bukan urusan sebenar prestasi skuad bimbingannya itu.
Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas melancarkan Program Rakan Muda Ihya Ramadan Peringkat Negeri Sembilan 2013, di Masjid At-Taqwa Paroi, malam kelmarin.

Menurut Khairy jika FAM dan Rajagopal menyifatkan cukup dengan sekadar menentang pasukan berstatus amatur ketika sedang membuat persiapan menghadapi pusingan kelayakan Piala Asia 2015, tetapi rakyat akhirnya akan menilai prestasi pasukan kebangsaan melalui kedudukan Malaysia di ranking dunia.
“Takkan kita boleh berbangga dengan kedudukan ranking pasukan kebangsaan di kedudukan ranking ke-159 itu.

“Jadi, kita kena cari pendekatan yang lebih seimbang ketika hendak membuat eksperimen antara bermain dengan kelab atau pasukan berstatus amatur serta kelas A.

“Kita juga harus bermain dalam perlawanan persahabatan berstatus kelas A sebab penanda aras kita dengan pasukan negara lain bukannya dengan pasukan kelab, apatah lagi yang berstatus amatur,” katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
