Keluarga Chua Terharu Kejayaan Malaysia Benam Taiwan 10-2

IPOH, 25 Ogos (Bernama) -- Keluarga tonggak skuad hoki kebangsaan, mendiang Chua Boon Huat terharu dengan kejayaan Malaysia mencipta kemenangan besar 10-2 ke atas Taiwan pada saingan awal perlawanan peringkat kumpulan A Kejohanan Hoki Piala Asia 2013 di Stadium Hoki Sultan Azlan Shah, di sini semalam.

Kakak mendiang, Melissa Chua, 37, berkata kejayaan Malaysia membenam Taiwan 10-2 semalam cukup berharga buat diri mereka sekeluarga.

"Mediang sering bercerita kepada kami sekeluarga bahawa beliau ingin melihat Malaysia menjulang Piala Asia 2013 buat julung kalinya serta layak ke Piala Dunia di Belanda 2014.

"Chua bersama rakan telah berkerja keras menjalani persiapan sebelum ini dan beliau pasti tersenyum melihat kejayaan malam ini jika beliau masih hidup," katanya yang hadir bersama ibunya, Tan Kuai Neo menyaksikan perlawanan tersebut di sini hari ini.

Sebelum perlawanan bermula penonton bertafakur bagi memberi penghormatan terhadap jasa wira negara kelahiran Bukit Cina, Melaka itu.

Sementara itu, kapten pasukan negara, Mohd Shahrul Nabil Abdullah menyifatkan kejayaan tersebut hasil dorongan semua pemain yang berusaha bersungguh-sungguh demi merealisasikan impian mediang Chua ingin melihat kejayaan skuad hoki kebangsaan.

"Walaupun Chua telah lama meninggalkan pasukan, namun semangat juang tinggi yang terdapat pada diri mediang sentiasa segar melekat di dada kami," katanya.

Mendiang Chua terbunuh dalam kemalangan jalan raya pada 1 Ogos lalu apabila kereta dipandunya berlanggar dengan sebuah lori penyiram pokok di Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong pada 2.25 pagi.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
