KUNDASANG, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Loh Sea Keong emerged as the best
placed Malaysian rider in the fourth stage of Tour of Borneo (TOB) race
from Kota Kinabalu to Kundasang today.
He finished in 17th place with a time of 4:50:26s, 18:35s behind the winner, Ghader Mizbani Iranagh from Tabriz Petrochemical Team.
"This is my best showing after emerging as the overall winner of the Tour of Malaysia. The difficult terrain makes it a challenging stage," said the OCBC Singapore Continental Cycling Team rider.
Kelantan-born Loh, 27, is expected to take part in the Tour of East Java and the Tour of Hokaido.
The first Malaysian rider to be the overall winner of UCI Asia Tour also won the Tour of Singkarak and the Tour of Thailand.
Meanwhile, Mohd Shahrul Mat Amin of Terengganu Cycling Team Team (TSG) said the race was different from the first edition last year.
"The race this time is different despite the shorter distance. However, I am satisfied with today's result," he added.
Mohd Shahrul who finished in 22nd place with a time of 4:52:22s grabbed the white jersey after emerging as Malaysia's best rider last year.
However, the organisers are not offering the white jersey for the best Malaysian rider this year.
