Teong Kim didik pemain muda negara




Putrajaya: Bekas penolong jurulatih remaja bawah 19 tahun Bayern Munich Lim Teong Kim dilantik Pengarah Projek Program Pembangunan Bola Sepak Negara dalam usaha Malaysia untuk melahirkan pemain berkelas dunia masa depan.

Teong Kim yang mempunyai latar belakang hebat dan sudah lama berkelana di Jerman, ditawarkan kontrak tiga tahun dengan pilihan untuk menyambungnya bagi dua tahun berikutnya.

Bekas pemain negara yang melakukan 76 penampilan bersama Malaysia itu dijangka memulakan tugas pada November dengan fokus utama bertanggungjawab dalam semua program pembangunan bola sepak negara.
“Ini satu cabaran sangat besar, tapi saya seorang yang sukakan cabaran dan akan menyahut cabaran ini.

“Sebagai seorang warga negara Malaysia dan pernah mewakili negara, sudah tentu saya mahu kembali menabur bakti kepada bumi tumpah darah saya,” katanya pada sidang media semalam yang turut dihadiri Menteri Belia dan Sukan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.

Teong Kim mengakui tempoh kontrak lima tahun yang diberikan kepadanya untuk melahirkan pemain bola sepak berkelas dunia sememangnya singkat, tetapi yakin dengan kerjasama semua pihak, ia akan dapat direalisasikan.

Program Pembangunan Bola Sepak Negara program yang berada di bawah Jawatankuasa Pembangunan Bola Sepak Malaysia seliaan Kementerian Belia Sukan yang dipengerusikan Khairy sendiri.

Sementara itu, Khairy berkata, Teong Kim individu terbaik untuk memikul tugas berkenaan.
“Sebagai Pengarah Projek, Teong Kim sebenarnya memikul tugas lebih besar dan ia bukan sekadar soal pembangunan pemain bola sepak saja.

“Beliau juga bertanggungjawab memberi latihan dan nasihat kepada jurulatih tempatan kerana kita perlukan mereka yang benar-benar bagus untuk membimbing bakat baru,” katanya.

Antara pemain yang pernah dibimbing Teong Kim termasuklah Thomas Muller dan Tony Kroos yang beraksi untuk skuad utama Bayern Munich serta Roberto Salerno (Sampdoria).

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
