Hoki Piala Sultan Johor: Malaysia Tewaskan Korea Selatan 5-1

JOHOR BAHARU, 24 Sept (Bernama) -- Malaysia sekali menunjukkan kelasnya tersendiri apabila memenangi saingan kedua Kejohanan Hoki Piala Sultan Johor dengan menewaskan pasukan Korea Selatan 5-1 di Stadium Hoki Taman Daya di sini Isnin malam.

Jaringan pertama diperoleh pasukan itu apabila pemain Korea Selatan Nam Yun Seon tertampan masuk pukulan ketua pasukan Mohd Fitri Saari pada minit ke-13.

Pasukan bimbingan Kim Young Kyu yang tewas 0-3 kepada Pakistan pada perlawanan pembukaan semalam cuba memberikan saingan sebaik mungkin namun pertahanan Malaysia cemerlang mematahkan serangan.

Berbekalkan kemenangan 4-2 ke atas juara Pan Amerika, Argentina, Malaysia tampak lebih berkeyakinan dan menguasai perlawanan sehingga tamat separuh masa pertama.

Empat minit selepas separuh masa kedua dimulakan, Malaysia menambah jaringan melalui pukulan sudut penalti oleh Muhd Shahril Saabah.

Dua minit selepas itu Korea Selatan gagal merapatkan jurang gol apabila tidak dapat memanfaatkan sudut penalti yang diperoleh.

Malaysia juga gagal melebarkan jurang gol apabila Muhd Shahril gagal menyudahkan sudut penalti pada minit ke-43 namun ia ditebus Mohd Zulhairi Hashim untuk gol ketiga melalui pukulan sudut penalti pada minit ke-47.

Mohd Syamim Mohd Yusof menambah luka Korea Selatan untuk gol keempat Malaysia melalui gol padang pada minit ke-64.

Korea Selatan cuba bangkit pada minit ke-67 melalui gol padang oleh Seo In Wu namun Muhd Rashid Baharom menjaringkan gol kelima pada minit ke-69 untuk mengesahkan kemenangan Malaysia.

Dalam perlawanan sebelum itu Pakistan menewaskan England 6-2 manakala India menewaskan Argentina 3-2.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
