KOM tetap dengan keputusan

Kuala Lumpur: Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia (KOM) tetap berpegang pada prinsip tidak menyenaraikan Noraseela Khalid dan Lee Hup Wei yang dicadangkan Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) ke temasya Sukan SEA Myanmar hujung tahun ini.

Perkara itu ditegaskan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pemilihan KOM Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh yang mengulas kenyataan Noraseela, atlet 400m lari berpagar negara yang memutuskan untuk tidak menyertai temasya dwitahunan itu.

Bagaimanapun KOM memaklumkan akan menambah dua nama baru ke Sukan SEA selepas bersetuju menghantar kuartet 4x100m wanita negara yang kini berada dalam kedudukan ranking ketiga terbaik Asia Tenggara.

Mereka adalah pasangan kembar dari Pulau Pinang Zaidatul Husna dan Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli bergandingan bersama Komalam Sally dan Noor Amira Mohamad Nafiah yang sebelum ini sudah disenaraikan dalam acara 4x100m.

“Kami tetap berpegang pada prinsip sebelum ini berhubung penyenaraian atlet ke Sukan SEA. Saya harap perkara ini tidak dipanjangkan dan Noraseela serta Lee Hup Wei akan fokus untuk Sukan Asia dan Komanwel.

“Mereka mempunyai banyak masa untuk kembali cergas dan saya yakin mereka mampu membuktikan keupayaan menghadapi dua temasya lebih besar itu,” katanya.
Beliau berharap keputusan itu tidak mengeruhkan hubungan antara MSN dan KOM.

Katanya, KOM tidak mempunyai masalah dan sentiasa mengamalkan dasar terbuka dengan menerima pandangan yang diberikan MSN sebelum ini.

“Biarpun perjumpaan membabitkan KOM dan MSN bersama Menteri Belia dan Sukan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar kelmarin dibatalkan, itu tidak bermakna kami mempunyai masalah. “Presiden (Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad) sentiasa berhubung dengan MSN walaupun secara tidak rasmi,” katanya. Wan Hisham berkata, perjumpaan bersama atlet dan jurulatih semalam memberi petanda positif mereka kini sudah bersedia menyahut cabaran dan beliau yakin beberapa kejutan akan berlaku di Myanmar.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
