Sukma 2016: Sarawak Bina Kemudahan Bertaraf Dunia

SIBU, 24 Nov (Bernama) -- Kerajaan Sarawak sedang giat menyediakan infrastruktur dan prasarana sukan termasuk yang bertaraf dunia sebagai persediaan menjadi tuan rumah Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) pada 2016.

Ketua Menteri Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud berkata, ada sesetengah kemudahan tersebut sedang dalam pembinaan manakala beberapa lagi masih di peringkat cadangan.

Menurutnya, antara kemudahan itu ialah pusat akuatik/renang yang akan dibina di Bandar Betong manakala Pusat Akuatik Kuching yang bertaraf dunia sedang dalam pembinaan di Kompleks Sukan Petra Jaya dijangka siap pada 2015.

"Apa yang kita harapkan dalam masa terdekat ini, ingin melihat sebuah perkampungan sukan lengkap dengan kemudahan sukan, hostel atlet, pejabat pusat pentadbiran seperti institut sukan, pejabat perbadanan sukan dan kemudahan lain berkaitan", katanya pada Anugerah Sukan Negeri Sarawak 2011/2013 di sini semalam.

Teks ucapan beliau dibacakan oleh Menteri Muda Perhubungan merangkap Menteri Muda Sukan Sarawak Datuk Lee Kim Shin yang mewakili Ketua Menteri pada majlis itu.

Taib berkata kerajaan negeri telah menerima pelan induk program pembangunan sukan menjelang tahun 2020 bagi negeri ini daripada firma dilantik untuk dijadikan sebagai panduan untuk melaksana dan memajukan program dan aktiviti sukan.

Beliau berkata, kerajaan negeri juga sudah meluluskan penubuhan sebuah perbadanan sukan yang bertanggungjawab merancang secara lebih komprehensif program-program pembangunan sukan di Sarawak.

Taib berkata beliau yakin penubuhan perbadanan itu yang diketuai oleh seorang ketua pegawai eksekutif, aktiviti dan program pembangunan sukan boleh dijalankan dengan cekap, berkesan, sempurna dan teratur dari semua aspek.

Sementara itu menyentuh tentang kemajuan sukan bola sepak negeri, beliau berkata, kerajaan negeri melalui Majlis Sukan Negeri Sarawak (MSNS) dengan kerjasama Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri telah membuka pusat latihan di merata tempat di negeri ini.

Menurutnya, langkah itu adalah untuk memastikan semua program pembangunan sukan bola sepak dan melatih pemain-pemain tidak terhenti di tengah jalan.

Beliau berkata, semua usaha pembangunan sukan itu membuktikan keyakinan kerajaan terhadap kepentingan kemajuan sukan diletak setaraf dan sealiran dengan kemajuan bidang-bidang lain dalam proses pembangunan Sarawak.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
