Peluang Cerah Untuk Olivia Tai Raih Slot Ke Sukan Olimpik Remaja

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Feb (Bernama) -- Gimnas negara Olivia Tai Qing Tong mempunyai peluang cerah untuk muncul empat gimnas Asia terbaik melayakkan diri ke Sukan Olimpik Remaja 2014 di Nanjing, China, Ogos ini.

Secara keseluruhan, Tai menduduki tempat ketiga selepas bersaing dalam empat disiplin pada pusingan kelayakan individu pada Kejohanan Gimnastik Berirama Remaja Asia ke-13 di Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Empat disiplin yang dipertandingkan ialah gelung, belantan, bola dan riben.

Di atas kertas, Tai berkongsi kedudukan dengan Nilufar Shomuradova dari Uzbekistan dengan jumlah mata yang sama iaitu 42.150.

Keputusan semasa menunjukkan Yelizaveta Mainovskaya dari Kazakhstan menduduki tempat pertama dengan pungutan 42.800 mata dan Anora Davlyatova dari Uzbekistan berada pada kedudukan kedua dengan 42.400 mata.

Pengurus pasukan Dr Farrah Hani Imran berkata pihaknya masih menunggu keputusan rasmi daripada Persekutuan Gimnastik Antarabangsa (FIG) berhubung keputusan tersebut.

"Saya berpuas hati dengan pencapaian Tai dan gimnas yang lain hari ini, mereka telah buat yang terbaik untuk negara. Tetapi kami masih menunggu pengumuman rasmi daripada pihak FIG," katanya kepada pemberita, Sabtu.

Pada final berpasukan, trio negara yang diwakili oleh Tai, Shasangari Sivaneswary dan Koi Sieyan menduduki tempat keempat dengan pungutan 131.150 mata daripada 12 negara yang mengambil bahagian.

Pingat emas dimenangi oleh trio Uzbekistan (Nilufar Shomuradova/Jasmin Yusupova/Anora Davlyatova) dengan 140.350 mata diikuti Kazakhstan (Yelizaveta Mainovskaya/Veronika Lyssogor/Anna Maximova) meraih pingat perak dengan 137.050 mata.

Trio Jepun (Ayuka Suzuki/Takana Tatsuzawa/Haruna Igarashi) meraih pingat gangsa dengan 134.500 mata.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
