Anugerah Sukan Dunia Laureus 2014 Ubah Program Hormati Tragedi MH370

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 Mac (Bernama) -- Anugerah Sukan Dunia Laureus 2014, yang pada mulanya dijadual berlangsung secara besar-besaran, diubah sebagai tanda simpati dan bagi menghormati berita tentang pesawat Malaysia Airlines MH370 yang mengakhiri penerbangannya di selatan Lautan Hindi.

Pengerusi Laureus World Sports Academy Edwin Moses berkata beberapa acara yang sepatutnya diadakan menjelang majlis itu esok, ditangguhkan.

"Semua kami di Laureus World Sports Academy sedih dengan tragedi dahsyat ini. Oleh kerana kami berasa begitu rapat dengan rakyat Malaysia ketika ini, maka apa yang berlaku itu menjadikan kami lebih terharu dan menyayat hati.

"Jadi, kami rasa, langkah yang wajar diambil dalam keadaan begini adalah tidak mengadakan beberapa kegiatan kami dalam tempoh dua hari ini dengan begitu meriah," katanya dalam satu kenyataan.

Moses berkata pihaknya mendedikasikan Laureus All Stars Unity Cup kepada keluarga dan mereka yang disayangi oleh mangsa MH370.

Malam tadi, Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata pesawat berkenaan mengakhiri penerbangannya di Lautan Hindi berdasarkan analisis baharu yang dibuat terhadap data satelit oleh Cawangan Penyiasatan Kemalangan Udara UK (AAIB) dan syarikat satelit Inmarsat. Penerbangan ke Beijing dengan 227 penumpang dan 12 anak kapal itu hilang pada 8 Mac.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
