Pandelela Bertambah Yakin Selepas Menang Dua Perak Kejohanan Dunia

KUCHING, 25 Mac (Bernama) -- Ratu terjun negara Pandelela Rinong kini semakin yakin untuk bersaing dengan dua pencabar terbaik dunia iaitu Liu Huixia dari China dan Filion Roseline dari Kanada setelah beliau berjaya memperoleh pingat perak kedua pada pusingan kedua Kejohanan Siri Dunia Fina di Dubai, Emiriah Arab Bersatu pada Ahad.

"Sangat-sangat gembira kerana bukan sahaja kerana saya berjaya memenangi pingat perak semalam tapi ia adalah pingat perak kedua berjaya saya menangi dalam acara yang sama dalam siri Dunia Fina tahun ini," kata penerjun berusia 21 tahun dari Sarawak ini ketika dihubungi.

Pada pusingan pertama kejohanan di Beijing awal bulan ini, Pandelela merangkul pingat perak dalam acara individu 10 platform dan pingat gangsa bagi acara 10m berpasangan berirama bersama Leong Mun Yee.

"Selepas berjaya memenangi pingat perak di pusingan pertama di Beijing minggu lepas, saya sememangnya lebih berkeyakinan di kejohanan di sini (Dubai).

"Saya memberi sepenuh tumpuan terhadap terjunan saya dan gembira semuanya berjaya dilakukan dengan baik.

"Dengan dua kemenangan pingat perak, kini saya lebih yakin untuk meneruskan pusingan ketiga yang akan diadakan di London dari 25 hingga 27 April," katanya.

Pandelela berkata sasaran beliau ialah untuk memperbaiki terjunan dan berharap untuk memberi saingan kepada Huixia di London nanti.

Huixia mengekalkan pingat emas yang dimenanginya dalam pusingan pertama selepas mendapat 400.70 mata sementara Filion Roseline mendapat gangsa dengan 355.20 mata.

Kejohanan pusingan ketiga akan diadakan di Rusia dari 2 hingga 4 Mei, diikuti di Kanada (30 Mei hingga 1 Jun) sebelum berakhir di Mexico (6 hingga 8 Jun).

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
