Ramdan raih juara sulung



Kuala Lumpur: Pemain perseorangan lelaki negara, Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun (gambar) menjuarai Kejohanan Siri Antarabangsa Romania 2014 apabila menewaskan pencabar dari Poland Adrian Dziolka 15-21, 21-8, 21-16 di Dewan Sukan Constantin Jude, kelmarin.

Misbun Ramdan yang juga anak kepada bekas jurulatih perseorangan negara, Misbun Sidek mengambil masa 49 minit bagi melakar kejuaraan sulung buat dirinya tahun ini.

Pada aksi akhir itu, Ramdan yang diletak pilihan utama kejohanan terpaksa berhempas pulas menundukkan wakil dari benua Eropah itu dengan permainan tiga set.

Namun pemain berusia 23 tahun itu memulakan aksi set pertama dengan hambar apabila tewas 15-21 sebelum bangkit memenangi dua set berikutnya.

Ramdan yang dilatih bapanya, mara ke pentas akhir selepas mengecewakan pemain pilihan keenam iaitu Luka Wraber dari Austria di separuh akhir dengan kemenangan 22-20, 21-12.

Pemain ranking ke-48 dunia itu sebelum ini terkandas di pusingan awal Seluruh England kepada pemain Taiwan Chou Tien Chen 21-15, 21-10 yang turut menyaksikan jaguh perseorangan negara yang juga pemain nombor satu dunia, Datuk Lee Chong Wei muncul juara.

Tahun lalu Ramdan kerap mengambil bahagian di Eropah dengan muncul juara Terbuka Ireland, Siri Antarabangsa Slovenia dan Siri Antarabangsa Portugal.

Dalam acara beregu lelaki, pasangan Crotia Zvonimir Durkinjak dan Zvonimir Hoelbling menundukkan gandingan Perancis, Bastian Kersaudy dan Gaetan Mittelheisser 21-12, 21-13 di aksi akhir.

Delphine Lansac dari Perancis pula menjuarai kategori perseorangan wanita apabila memerlukan 35 minit untuk menjinakkan Laura Sarosi dari Ireland 22-20, 21-14 manakala pasangan Scotland Martin Campbell dan Jillie Cooper dinobatkan juara beregu campuran apabila menyingkirkan Bastian Kersaudy dan Teshana Vignes Waran dari Perancis 21-14, 21-15.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
