JKR tak pantau

Kangar: Giliran Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) negeri pula dipersalahkan gara-gara pusat akuatik Kompleks Sukan Kangar masih tidak siap sedangkan acara renang sepatutnya bermula hari ini.

Satu-satunya jalan yang dapat difikirkan ialah penganjur terpaksa mengambil keputusan menangguhkan acara akuatik dan ia akan hanya bermula esok, lewat sehari daripada jadual asal.

Lawatan Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan (KBS) Datuk M Saravanan ke venue berkenaan petang semalam mengundang kesal apabila beliau mendapati tidak seorangpun wakil JKR berada di situ untuk memantau semua kerja pembinaan.

Ketiadaan wakil JKR itu disifatkan antara punca mengapa kolam renang terbabit lewat disiapkan.

Akibatnya, KBS terpaksa mengeluarkan bajet tambahan RM300,000 bagi menyediakan lokasi lain di Kedah andai pusat akuatik itu tetap gagal disudahkan menjelang tengah malam ini.

Saravanan berkata, keseluruhan venue itu sudah siap, namun beberapa penambahbaikkan perlu dilakukan bagi menjamin keselamatan atlet.

“Saya sedih ketika saya hadir untuk menyemak keselamatan di sini, saya tidak lihat wakil JKR. Jika berlaku perkara tidak diingini, siapa yang akan bertanggungjawab?

“Pegawai mereka sepatutnya perlu ada di sini hingga siap. Dari segi infrastruktur memang sudah sedia, tapi kita cuma tingkatkan ciri-ciri keselamatan.

“Perubahan ini dilakukan atas pandangan pakar. Sebab itulah kami ambil tanggungjawab ini kerana tidak mahu jika berlaku sebarang kejadian, mereka tuding jari kepada KBS dan Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN),” katanya.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
