SERI KEMBANGAN, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- National Football Development Plan
(NFDP) project director Lim Teong Kim is keeping mum on the issue of
withdrawal of coaches and the NFDP which has been described as a
failure.
He confirmed however, that only two coaches had withdrew from the NFDP and not six as reported in an English newspaper today.
The former Bayern Munich assistant coach said he respected the decision of two coaches involved, whom he did not name.
"It is their decision and I must respect it. Whatever has been said to me, I am not going to wash my dirty linen in public.
"It will stay in the room and under four eyes," he told reporters after the launch of the NFDP seminar by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin here, Monday.
Teong Kim said the implementation of NFDP was not affected by the withdrawal of the coaches as there were many other coaches who were still young who have the desire and spirit to develop football in the country.
"They should also possess high social value as we are working with children. Just like parents, we (coaches) should educate children correctly because they could turn out good in future," he said, clarifying that principles were part of what was included in the NFDP.
According to a report in an English newspaper today, six NFDP coaches had resigned, revealing that the programme was not running smoothly and was hampered by several problems, inhibiting football development in the country.
