SEA Games Training Camp For Final Phase Switched From Johor To KL - CDM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- The venue for the final phase of centralised training camp to prepare for the Singapore SEA Games in June has been changed from Johor to Kuala Lumpur.

The centralised training camp that was supposed to be held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Skudai, Johor has been switched to Kuala Lumpur and the dates changed from May 28-30 to May 22-24.

Malaysian contingent chef-de-mission (CDM) Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria said the National Sports Council (NSC) would decide to new venue for the final phase of training.

"The decision to change the venue was made after taking into consideration feedback and views of National Sports Associations (NSA) and the National Sports Institute (ISN) because we do not want any disruption in the preparations," said Mohamad Norza after attending a meeting with team managers and officials at ISN, here Wednesday.

Mohamad Norza added that the decision by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) to not set any medal target for the SEA Games was due to differences in challenges faced by each sport.

He said the OCM was expected to finalise the names of athletes competing in the Singapore SEA Games by end of the month.

Meanwhile, the Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee (Singsoc) which decided to stage 37 sports, has decided to drop karate but included floorball, a sport that is quite similar to hockey.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
