Nafiizwan layak ke Terbuka Dunia

KUALA LUMPUR - Pemain muda negara, Mohd. Nafiizwan Adnan menjadi pemain Malaysia ketiga bakal beraksi pada Kejohanan Skuasy Lelaki Terbuka Dunia di Kuwait, November ini.

Kelmarin, Nafiizwan menempah tiketnya pada kejohanan 1-7 November itu selepas melepasi pusingan kelayakan di Surrey, England.

Pemain kelahiran Terengganu berusia 23 tahun itu dipaksa mengharungi aksi sengit selama 1 jam 9 minit sebelum menundukkan Max Lee dari Hong Kong 14-12, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5.

Dia kini bakal mengiringi dua pemain utama negara, Mohd. Azlan Iskandar dan Ong Beng Hee yang sudahpun menempah tiket di Terbuka Dunia tanpa perlu melalui pusingan kelayakan.

Kejohanan kelayakan yang berlangsung di Kelab Skuasy St. George Hill, Surrey itu menawarkan 16 tiket untuk direbut.

Azlan dan Beng Hee sudahpun melayakkan diri selaku pemain No. 16 dan 21 dunia. Seramai 32 pemain akan berentap di Kuwait, November ini.

Terdahulu, pemain No. 1 dunia, Karim Darwish dari Mesir akan turun sebagai pilihan pertama kejohanan, diikuti Gregory Gaultier dari Perancis sebagai pilihan kedua.

Dua lagi pemain Mesir, Ramy Ashour dan Amr Shabana masing-masing diletak sebagai pilihan ketiga dan keempat.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
