Dasar Sukan IPT negara siap

KUALA LUMPUR - Dasar Sukan Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) negara - yang pertama seumpamanya di Asia kini sudah siap sepenuhnya, kata Setiausaha Bahagian Sukan, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT), Dr. Saharudin Ismail.

Katanya, buat masa ini tiada negara lain di Asia kecuali Malaysia mempunyai dasar sukan yang bertujuan membantu IPT baik berstatus awam mahu pun swasta membangunkan bidang tersebut secara sistematik.

"Sebaliknya KPT telah mengambil inisiatif sendiri merangkanya sebaik mungkin demi mahu melihat negara ini mampu melahirkan atlet yang boleh berfikir secara bijak.

"Dengan siapnya dasar tersebut, buku mengenainya bakal diedarkan secara rasmi kepada semua IPT tempatan pada 7 Oktober ini.

"Ia akan dilakukan Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Datuk Seri Mohd. Khaled Nordin serentak dengan majlis pelancaran dan penyerahan buku dasar sukan IPT negara di Dewan Perdana, Pusat Konvensyen Antarabangsa Putrajaya (PICC) itu nanti," katanya.

Menurutnya, Naib Canselor dan Timbalan Naib Canselor IPT akan menerima sendiri buku dasar sukan itu daripada menteri sebagai menandakan betapa seriusnya KPT membangunkan bidang sukan ini bergandingan dengan kementerian-kementerian lain yang berkaitan seperti Kementerian Belia dan Sukan serta Kementerian Pelajaran.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
