Nicol sudah belajar


NICOL sudah bersedia mempertahankan
kejuaraannya pada Kejohanan Terbuka Dunia 2009.

BELANDA - Ratu skuasy negara, Datuk Nicol David sudah belajar daripada kesilapan.

Kini dia bersedia untuk mempertahankan kejuaraannya pada Kejohanan Terbuka Dunia yang bermula hari ini.

Itu pandangan jurulatih Nicol, Liz Irving selepas mengadakan perbincangan dari hati ke hati dengan pemain No. 1 dunia itu selepas Nicol tersingkir pada pusingan suku akhir Terbuka Britian minggu lepas.

Nicol yang memegang status No. 1 dunia sejak tiga tahun lepas, gagal mempertahankan kejuaraanya di Manchester apabila tewas kepada pemain Ireland, Madeline Perry.

"Dia (Nicol) sudah belajar dari kesilapan," kata Irving.

"Nicol sedar apa yang yang tidak kena dalam permainan di Manchester lalu. Madeline mempunyai peluang untuk menewaskan Nicol dan dia tidak mempersiakan peluang tersebut.

"Namun kali ini, saya rasa Nicol akan lebih bersedia untuk mempertahankan kejuaraannya.

"Kami sering berbincang mengenai perkara ini dan ia amat penting kerana apabila pemain sudah mempunyai kepercayaan yang penuh terhadap jurulatih, kita dapat menyelesaikan banyak perkara melalui perbincangan."

Menurut Irving, meskipun Nicol bergelar pemain No. 1 dunia, namun masih banyak yang perlu dipelajari oleh jaguh kelahiran Pulau Pinang itu.

"Hakikatnya, Nicol baru berusia 26 tahun," tambah Irving.

"Dia masih muda dan masih banyak yang perlu dipelajari. Dia memang jujur berkaitan perkara ini. Dia tidak malu untuk belajar meskipun sudah berada di puncak."

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
