Olimpian pula gamit skuad bola

KUALA LUMPUR - Sekalipun masih tidak setimpal RM720,000 buat pasukan Vietnam yang sekadar meraih pingat perak Sukan SEA Laos, skuad bola sepak bawah 23 negara yang kelmarin dihadiahkan bonus RM30,000 setiap pemain kelmarin, berpeluang menambahnya dalam Anugerah Olimpian Majlis Olimpik Malaysia (MOM), bulan depan.
Habuan RM10,000 menanti pemenang kategori lelaki Olimpian MOM pada majlis makan malam penyampaiannya, 16 Januari depan dengan anak didik K. Rajagobal ini bakal dicabar Raja Renang Malaysia di Laos Daniel Bego yang mempertaruhkan koleksi lima emasnya dan empat rekod baru kebangsaan serta Sukan SEA.
Sebutir emas bola sepak yang ibarat 'ibu emas'


Sukan SEA Laos semakin tinggi nilainya kerana kemampuan skuad belia mengakhiri kemarau 20 tahun namun kejayaan anak jati Sarawak yang juga Olimpian 2007 memenangi 100, 200 dan 400 meter gaya bebas serta 100 dan 200m kuak kupu-kupu, turut membanggakan negara.
Kelmarin, Presiden Persatuan Bola Sepak Malaysia (FAM), Sultan Ahmad Shah dari London menerusi kiriman sistem pesanan ringkas pegawai khasnya, mengumumkan bonus kemenangan RM10,000 buat setiap pemain negara yang menewaskan Vietnam 1-0 dalam perlawanan akhir, 17 Disember manakala secara keseluruhannya, masing-masing akan mendapat RM30,000.
Setiausaha Kehormat MOM, Datuk Sieh Kok Chi berkata, empat atlet sama ada berpasukan atau individu dicalonkan bagi merebut gelaran Olimpian lelaki MOM bagi edisi ke-17 di Arena Sukan Tertutup MOM, Wisma MOM di sini yang menilai prestasi sepanjang temasya serantau dwitahunan dari 9 hingga 18 Disember lalu.
"Tetamu kehormat dalam majlis yang dijadualkan pukul 8 malam itu ialah Timbalan Perdana Menteri yang juga Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kabinet Pembangunan Sukan, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin," katanya kepada Utusan Malaysia di sini, semalam.
Mereka akan disaingi oleh dua pemenang dua emas terjun Sukan SEA Laos bagi acara 10m platform dan 3m papan anjal seirama, Bryan Nickson Lomas dengan pasangannya, Yeoh Ken Nee yang turut memenangi 3m papan anjal secara individu.
Badminton menampilkan dua calon bagi Olimpian MOM wanita iaitu juara beregu wanita individu, Wong Pei Tty-Chin Ee Hui yang turut membantu skuad badminton negara meraih emas pertama berpasukan wanita dalam tempoh 34 tahun sejak Sukan SEAP Bangkok 1975.
Turut dicalonkan ialah tiga pemenang emas 200m rampaian perseorangan, 100m dan 200m kuak dada Sukan SEA Laos yang juga Olimpian 2008 - Siow Yi Ting; Pandelela Rinong (terjun 10m platform dan 10m platform seirama) bersama Olimpian 2001, Leong Mun Yee yang turut memenangi 3m papan anjal seirama). Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
