Awas ancaman batuk, cirit birit: Ramlan

INSTITUT Sukan Negara (ISN) akan memberi taklimat kepada semua anggota kontinjen negara ke Sukan Komanwel mengenai aspek kesihatan yang perlu diambil perhatian ketika berada New Delhi, India.

Ketua Pengarah ISN, Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz berkata antara maklumat yang akan disampaikan ialah mengenai pencegahan penyakit seperti batuk dan cirit birit.
Taklimat khas selama dua hari bagi memastikan bahawa mereka tahu apa yang patut dilakukan, katanya, semalam.

Ramlan berkata kontinjen negara yang akan menyertai Sukan Komanwel pada 3 sehingga 14 Oktober ini juga akan dibekalkan dengan pil anti-denggi bagi mengelak daripada dijangkiti wabak berkenaan.

Beliau berkata demikian apabila diminta mengulas kenyataan Setiausaha Kehormat Majlis Olimpik Malaysia (MOM), Datuk Sieh Kok Chi yang bimbang dengan ancaman wabak demam denggi yang semakin menular di India.

MOM menerima peringatan mengenai perkara itu daripada Penasihat Perubatan Persekutuan Sukan Komanwel (CGF) yang juga Timbalan Presiden MOM, Tan Sri Dr M Jegathesan, Jumaat lalu.

Media India melaporkan 140 kes denggi dilaporkan di India dengan kes terbesar iaitu 123 di New Delhi.
Ramlan berkata pihaknya akan menghantar satu pasukan perubatan bersama kontinjen negara bagi memantau keadaan di sana nanti.

Malaysia akan menghantar seramai 203 atlit dan 99 pegawai menyertai 14 acara iaitu akuatik, angkat berat, badminton, berbasikal, gimnastik, hoki, boling padang, memanah, menembak, olahraga, ping pong, skuasy, tinju, ragbi tujuh sebelah serta tiga acara paralimpik.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM
