KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The ankle injury sustained by Datuk Lee Chong Wei after returning to Malaysia from the Delhi Commonwealth Games is expected to fully heal before the Asian Games next month, said National Sports Institute (NSI) director-general Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz.
He said the world number one singles player was receiving treatment for the injury at the NSI.
"The injury is not very serious and we are monitoring his situation very closely," he told reporters after delivering his keynote address at the "Sports Health In Industry 2010" symposium at the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex here Wednesday.
He added that despite the injury, Chong Wei was in high spirits and looking forward to competing in the Asian Games, which will be held in Guangzhou, China from Nov 12 and 27.
At the Delhi Games, Chong Wei contributed two gold, in the men's singles and team event.
