Elaine sedia hadapi cabaran getir di Guangzhou

KUALA LUMPUR - Gimnas kebangsaan, Elaine Koon mengakui cabaran pada Sukan Asia Guangzhou, jauh lebih sukar berbanding Sukan Komanwel di New Delhi, minggu lepas.

Menurutnya, Jepun, Kazakhstan dan China adalah antara negara yang mempunyai kekuatan dalam sukan gimnastik berirama, kerana mempunyai barisan gimnas berpengalaman luas di peringkat antarabangsa.
Namun, Elaine, 17, yakin untuk memberikan persembahan terbaik bagi mendapatkan pingat buat negara pada saingan di Guangzhou nanti.

''Walaupun sukar, saya tetap bersedia untuk menghadapi apa jua cabaran di Guangzhou.
"Saya akan terus mengikuti latihan di Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) untuk meningkatkan lagi prestasi,'' katanya, semalam.

Pada temasya sukan di New Delhi, Elaine mencipta kejutan apabila memenangi satu pingat emas melalui acara apparatus gelung, iaitu pingat emas ke-10 Malaysia.

Selain Elaine, gimnas yang sama-sama beraksi di New Delhi, Nur Hidayah Abdul Wahid, juga akan menggalas cabaran negara di Guangzhou.
Guangzhou adalah penyertaan pertama dua gimnas muda negara ini.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
