Tiga pemain utama tidak beraksi


CHONG WEI tidak akan beraksi pada Sukan SEA 2011 bagi memberi tumpuan pada Sukan Olimpik 2012.


JAGUH badminton negara, Datuk Lee Chong Wei dan beregu utama, Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong tidak akan beraksi pada temasya Sukan SEA 2011 di Indonesia, November ini.
Perkara itu disahkan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kejurulatihan dan Latihan (C&T) Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM), Ng Chin Chai.

Chin Chai berkata, keputusan untuk tidak menyenaraikan Chong Wei, Kien Keat/Boon Heong pada Sukan Sea kali ini dibuat selepas mengambil kira persiapan ketiga-tiga pemain itu menjelang Sukan Olimpik 2012 di London.

“Keputusan ini dibuat selepas mengambil kira tentang program-program yang telah diatur bagi menghadapi Sukan Olimpik pada tahun depan.

“Kami (BAM) mahu mereka terus fokus kepada program-program itu tanpa ada sebarang gangguan,” kata Chin Chai selepas mempengerusikan mesyuarat C&T di pejabat BAM di Bukit Kiara semalam.

Ditanya sama ada Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek sudah mengetahui mengenai perkara tersebut, Chin Chai menjawab: “Beliau sudah mengetahui mengenai perkara ini.

“Ketika mesyuarat Program Road to London 2012 baru-baru ini, beliau (Shabery) telah dimaklumkan mengenai perkara tersebut dan beliau bersetuju kerana beliau juga mahu ketiga-tiga pemain terbabit memberi tumpuan yang lebih untuk Sukan Olimpik.”

Jelas Chin Chai, kekosongan tersebut akan digantikan dengan pemain-pemain skuad elit negara yang ada ketika ini yang mana mereka perlu bersaing sesama mereka sekiranya berhasrat untuk disenaraikan ke Sukan SEA nanti.

Bagaimanapun, nasib berbeza dialami beregu wanita negara, Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui sama ada akan beraksi ataupun tidak pada temasya dwitahunan itu nanti.

Ini kerana, beregu wanita negara itu perlu memastikan terlebih dahulu mereka layak beraksi pada temasya Sukan Olimpik 2012 sebelum memikirkan mengenai penyertaan pada Sukan SEA.
“Jika Pei Tty/Ee Hui telahpun layak ke Sukan Olimpik sebelum bermulanya Sukan SEA, ini bermakna mereka akan disenaraikan untuk mengambil bahagian pada temasya tersebut.

“Jika tidak, mereka perlu terus fokus bagi melayakkan diri ke Sukan Olimpik dan melupakan sahaja aksi pada Sukan SEA,” kata Chin Chai.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Chin Chai yang juga merupakan Setiausaha Kehormat BAM mengesahkan bahawa tidak ada mana-mana pemain daripada skuad pelapis akan diserapkan ke skuad elit negara.
Memang jurulatih skuad pelapis (Hendra Setiawan) ada mencadangkan beberapa nama yang dilihat boleh diserapkan ke skuad elit tetapi kami memutuskan untuk tidak menerimanya.

“Kami baru sahaja mewujudkan struktur baru dalam BAM pada Ogos tahun lalu dan disebabkan itu kami merasakan ia bukan masa yang sesuai bagi menyerapkan pemain pelapis ke skuad elit,” tambah Chin Chai.
Sebelum ini, Pengarah Prestasi Tinggi BAM, Datuk James Selvaraj tidak menolak kemungkinan akan ada pemain pelapis yang diserapkan ke skuad elit terutamanya dalam acara perseorangan.

Ia ekoran keputusan yang dibuat pemain perseorangan negara, Muhammad Hafiz Hashim yang keluar daripada BAM.

Selepas Hafiz sah keluar daripada BAM berkuatkuasa 1 Februari yang lalu, kini skuad elit negara hanya dibarisi lima pemain perseorangan berbanding enam sebelum ini.

Mereka ialah pemain raking No. 1 dunia, Chong Wei, Chan Kwong Beng, Liew Darren Chow Wei Feng dan Tan Chun Seang.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
