SHAH ALAM, March 27 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf (TSMCG) organised a charity golf tournament in aid of the Malaysian Netball Association (MNA) at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club, near here today.
The "Charity Golf for Netball Malaysia" is to raise funds for the National Netball Team to participate in the World Netball Championship to be held in Singapore, in July this year.
Funds raised at the event will also be channeled to MNA to enable the association to carry out its activities and to promote netball at all levels.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, in his speech at the event, said TSMCG which he initiated, would continue to develop and promote the quality of the national athletes through various activities and programmes.
He also advised the participants of the World Netball Championship to strive harder and achieve top 10 ranking in the championship, which is being held for the first time.
Twelve athletes and five officials from MNA will take part in the championship.
