KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- Proton, the overall defending champion of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), will kick-off their 2012 Asia campaign this weekend at the Brother International Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand.
The local motorsport team that emerged as the APRC manufacturer's champion would also return as the favourites to defend their title in New Zealand, said Proton in a statement here Thursday.
The reigning APRC champion Alister McRae of Scotland would lead the charge for the team using the Satria Neo S2000, and he will be joined by former double junior world champion PG Andersson, who is making his debut in the championship, it said.
